Biography on Jean Batten

Introduction

Jean Batten was New Zealand's greatest aviator, celebrated around the world for her heroic solo flights during the 1930's. Following her success she moved in and out of public view before dying in Obscurity      in Spain.

Early life and Family

Jean Gardner Batten was a girl that was born on the 15th of 1910, in Rotorua. Soon, she became known as Jean Batten . In 1913 she moved to Auckland with her family members which are her dad, her mom and her two older brothers.

Education and School Life

In 1913, the family of Jean Batten started moving to Auckland, and at five years old, Jean Batten finally started going to school. The school that she started attending is called Melmelery Ladies School, a private school before switching to a state school one year later.
